Once it gets in your blood...it stays with you forever!

We spotted Enduro Senioren Member Erich Sander (Germany) this weekend
on the Bikers Classics at Francorchamps.
Lovely Maico...streetracer this time.
In the classic enduro events: also Maico!

No matter if it's cross-country, enduro or streetracing...
He loves to ride a motorbike, thatz for sure!
Great outfit, clean, cool 2-stroke bike...

Death of Augusto Taiocchi (I)

We heard this sad news today: Augusto TAIOCCHI died at the age of 60 years.
He was one of the great champions of ENDURO of the 70’s and 80’s.

2 times World Champion, 10 times Italian champion,
3 times winner of the ISDE (1979 Germany, 1980 France (scratch) and
1981 Isle of Elba).

Rider of the “FIAMMA ORO” (club of the Italian army) for which he rode during more than 20 years, TAIOCCHI already fought since few years against an inexorable disease which it did not succeed in overcoming after so many wins…

To his family and his friends, Classic Enduro Belgium offers its condolences.

Great event at Spa-Francorchamps

No enduro news at the moment, so here's some pub for the Bikers Classics
at Spa-Francorchamps: lots of old champs shall be there:
Pierpaolo Bianchi, Giacomo Agostino, Steve Webster, Jan de Vries
Jim Redman, Phil Read, Cristian Sarron, Steve Baker, Stephane Mertens...
We shall be present at the Triumph motorcycle stand.

Trail training and Testing the Hercules

We, Yves, Mark, Patrick and Valentin went saturday for a trial-training-ride
at Bilstain (http://www.rdmcbilstain.be),
Some -old muscle training- and of course lots of chats with a beer
in sunny Bilstain...
Mark rode one of his Buls, Yves hitted one of his Montesa's,
Patrick on his -Mega Mindy- Montesa
and me, myself and aai on the yellow Tweety SWM.

At the same time we tested the Hercules GS 125cc.
The Herc became a new exhaust system (thanx Werner!)...
More power at the bottom from 2nd to 3th gear...Now he's race-ready!!

So more power for the Herc, even to much...
when Mark tested the bike...he taught he was Batman...
a whoop-di-doooooo with the Herc!
so -Blue hawk was down....-

ISDTVisit Jaap & Jeff Lanting (Holland)

We visit on tuesday 29th december Dutch ex-Trophy & Vase rider
Jaap Lanting & his son Jeff.
We had a great time on tuesday...looking at beautiful bikes and photos
and talking about the stuff they collected at the years.
Jaap told us many stories about his enduro career at the Six Days, lovely to hear
those stories!! Man, oh man, did they have fun at 70's !
Jaap recoverd some years ago his KTM 175cc Six Days bike of Dalton (USA) 1973.

Thanks again to Jaap & Jeff !!

Belgium Team ISDT 1969

Mark found a photo of the Belgium ISDT Team 1969,
....he didn't have in his collection !
Everybody was on a Hercules 125cc, except André Piron with the 100cc.
The special bikes with the alu cylinder (16 PK/HP)
are the one with the chrome front fender (Vase Team).
The other with the black front fender were the "normally" bikes...
the engines (cross version) powered 15 PK/HP instead
of the standard 12,5 PK/HP

#70 Claude Vanstenagen, #91 Claude Tonneau, #44 André Piron (100cc)
